EU Fiscal Rules: Time for a Reboot - Report Launch 14 March 2023
The EU fiscal rules are one of if not the most important aspects of EU economic policymaking. They are also one of the most controversial. They shape how much member states can spend on vital public services and investments.
Currently suspended, it is widely believed they are not fit for purpose and arguably have never been. With the looming climate catastrophe and the challenge of societal ageing, their future complexion will have a huge impact on the fate of the people of Europe and Ireland.
TASC is delighted to announce the launch of a major report on Fiscal Rules Reform in conjunction with its partner, the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS).
The launch will take place in Buswells Hotel on the afternoon of the 14th March between 3 pm and 5 pm.
Our panel to date include :
- Robert Sweeney (TASC)
- Rosa Canelli (University of Sanio)
- Marie Sherlock (Senator and SIPTU member)
- Tom McDonell (NERI)
- Niamh Hardiman (UCD)
- David Rinaldi (FEPS)
