GenAI & Education Equality
Since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, generative AI (GenAI) has revolutionized education by offering tools that allow students and teachers to create, personalize, and expand learning content. This transformation promises benefits such as individualized learning and greater accessibility, yet also presents challenges related to equity and inclusivity. As AI-based tools become more integrated into classrooms, they have the potential to support students with diverse needs, including those with special education requirements. However, issues such as unequal access, algorithmic bias, and teacher preparedness must be carefully managed. Our latest blog explores how AI can reshape education and offers recommendations for ensuring that these innovations are both inclusive and effective.
GEMINI Geothermal Energy Project Launch
TASC is one of 15 partners on the GEMINI geothermal energy project which launched last week at TU Dublin. This four-year project will explore the challenge of developing geothermal energy for heating and cooling across five public-sector demonstration sites—a community sports centre, a net-zero training hub for social housing, a university campus and a water service provider. TASC’s role in the GEMINI project will involve conducting place-based research to understand how communities want to participate in and benefit from renewable energy projects like these. This will include exploring the potential of community ownership models.
The project is supported by the PEACEPLUS programme, which is managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
