The People’s Transition for Enniscorthy Launch

To mark the publication of the People’s Transition for Enniscorthy report, a public launch will take place in the new Green Tech HQ Global Innovation Hub in Enniscorthy Technology Park on Thursday, the 29th of June, from 6 pm.

The launch will provide an overview of the People’s Transition model and how it has been applied in Enniscorthy. Kieran Harrahill, senior researcher in climate justice with TASC, will also present two solutions that could support new opportunities for the town.

Last week TASC launched the annual inequality report. Well-attended and well-received in the media, the discussion entailed a wide range of stakeholders from trade unionists, central bankers, academics, and more. Takeaways from the report are that though inequality has declined over the past three or so decades, it has increased most recently. Inflation, moreover, has impacted those with the least means the most. The report cautions against reducing taxation, among other proposals.  Watch the recording on our YouTube channel

Migrant Community Needs Assessment - Survey Launch

TASC is now recruiting research participants to contribute to a project being run in collaboration with the Irish Cancer Society. We areinviting people from migrant backgrounds to participate in this important research. We want to hear about your perceptions about, and engagement with, the Irish healthcare service. We are particularly interested in the experiences of refugees, asylum seekers and undocumented migrants.     

The survey is available in 7 languages - English, Arebic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Ukrainian.  Access the survey here

 

Financial Resilience Training

Financial Resilience Training

Launched in March 2023, Financial Resilience Training, a partnership between TASC and AVIVA, has begun delivered training to charity staff and community groups across Ireland. Training has been delivered to staff in Ballyhoura Development CLG staff, Dublin Simon Community, Carlow County Development Partnership and members of Cork Equal & Sustainable Community Alliance.

We also have scheduled training with local development companies, charities and universities throughout 2023 including Dublin South City Partnership, COPE Galway, Galway City Partnership, University Galway, Donegal Local Development CLG and Multiple Sclerosis Ireland Mid-West.
