Ursula Barry is a senior lecturer and Deputy Head of the School of Social Justice in UCD, and is a researcher specialising in social economics with a particular focus on gender, equality and public policy in Ireland.
Ursula has conducted reseach and policy analysis for over 25 years encompassing individual research as well as commissioned research for government departments, statutory agencies, NGOs and the EU. She is the Irish representative on the EU Expert Network on Gender Equaity and Employment (ENEGE) .
She is the author of a wide range of research reports, articles and books on economic and social policy, gender and equality issues in Ireland and EU. She is a member of the editorial board of Feminism, Gender and Sexuality.
A political and community analyst and activist on issues of equality and social justice, women's rights, human rights, lesbian and gay issues and rights of people with disabilities, Ursula was a founder member of the Women's Human Rights Network in Ireland, and is a member of the research and policy advisory group of the Immigrant Council of Ireland.
