Clara Fischer is a teaching and research fellow in the School of Philosophy, UCD, and a UCD Women’s Studies Research Associate. She has completed a postdoctoral project as a Newton International Fellow of the British Academy based at the Gender Institute, LSE.

Her work is interdisciplinary, spanning the broad fields of philosophy, political science, gender studies and Irish studies. She specialises in political philosophy and feminist theory, and is the author of Gendered Readings of Change: A Feminist-Pragmatist Approach and co-editor of Irish Feminisms: Past, Present and Future. Outside of the academy, Clara has worked as a researcher in the NGO sector and in the Oireachtas, and is involved in several social justice campaigns in policy, advocacy, research and media work. She was a coordinator of the Irish Feminist Network in 2011-2013.
